bubbles

It's been a lovely weekend here & we've enjoyed it by grilling, hangin' on the porch, going to the pool & just playing!  One of miss L's fave things is bubble blowing {rather someone else blowing the bubbles while she chases them down to pop them}.  I love that I was able to capture this pic of Collin being such a sweet.... ahem... cool brother by blowing some bubbles for his lil' sis {I think he secretly loves to hear her giggles}.

The online shop is coming right along & if everything goes right I'll have it OPEN by mid-week!  SO excited :)

color cues 7.9.10

today I've got another fun inspiration post I'm going to begin on a weekly basis... color cues!  where do you find your color inspiration?  color is everywhere surrounding us & I love seeing new combinations.

today my color cue comes from this cute tank found in my daughter's wardrobe... I seriously buy her so many things just because I love the color combination, the pattern, whatever.  {did I mention I'm a sucker for little girl clothes?}

...and here's a digital layout I did with the color inspiration!

all papers, embellishments designed by me for pink trike design {coming very soon!!!}

wow.

really that is sorta the feeling I have right now.

for those who don't know I'm now self employed, independent contractor, freelance designer... whatever you choose to call it... that's me.  Last Friday was my last official day as a full time employee of Reminisce.  It was a bitter sweet day for me, as I love working for Reminisce & all the wonderful people there... {Matt, Andria, Denise, Brenton, Megan & Ryan}, but I'm so over the top excited about all the things I'm planning on pushing forward with in the very near future.  I'm so happy that I'll still be able to work on projects for them while pursuing some dreams I've had for a very long time...  so here it is, I've given little hints recently, but... pink trike design is my new leap into digital scrapbook design!  Not only digital papers & elements, but printable fun things to coordinate for those of you that may not be comfortable with the full on digi experience! I can't wait to share it all with you!  I'm working hard to get lots & lots of good stuff created so there is plenty of great things to see {& buy} in my online store... & please, if you know anyone that is a fan of digital scrapbooking would you please send them my way?  I'd really appreciate it!

here's a little sneek of what's coming...

...more to come :)

for the love of Cinderella

I was working on making up some digital papers this morning & funny thing, they just happened to go right along with this picture I was wanting to scrapbook of miss Lydia at her 3rd birthday party.  I was reminded of Cinderella because Lydia pulled the dvd out to watch this morning... it's one of her favorites!

journaling reads:

all patterned papers & layered flower element: robyn meierotto for pink trike design...look for pink trike design digital products coming soon :)

other products used: circle heart & love sticker... ali edwards for designer digitals.  ric rac/button element... jen allyson for design house digital.  font... splendid 66.

girl stuff

so here is my go at the inspiration I had posted earlier today.

Of course I didn't have any sequins on hand {jeez, I know, right?!}... so I improvised with some glitter that I added by taking some mod podge & a paintbrush & painting some streaks across the page... then adding the glitter.  While letting that dry I punched the circles with the Martha Stewart 1" circle punch & the butterflies with the Martha Stewart original butterfly punch.  Again I went at the page with some mod podge in random-ness & then sprinkled the bugle beads in the gluey goodness.  I like how it finally turned out & I'm thinking I'd definitely like to try out some sequins in the near future...

Papers: cardstock: Bazill. dotty paper: Making Memories. misc patterned paper: the girls' paperie. chipboard letters: unknown.  super cute pic courtesy of Shelly Haganman.
