yep. that's how I'm feelin' today! love my kiddos, but sometimes I wish they could be those angelic children that don't fight with each other... share kindly, are respectful.... so what do I do? make up a print of course! available soon in my etsy shop!
oh well. sometimes. the summer boredoms are catching up with us I believe. just a thought.

sniff. sniff. yep today is my Collin's 11th birthday... in some ways I can't believe he's 11 already, but in other ways I totally see it {you know, the attitude, becoming more & more independent...}.
Collin...it's been an interesting year... you've changed in so many ways, but there are always those times where you still need us & I love those times when you just come up out of know where to give me a hug or tell me you love me, or hug your sister. I hope those times don't end any time soon. I know there are so many milestones that are fast approaching over the next few years & I'm trying to hold on to every last bit of you! We love you so much Collin! you are a great big brother & a wonderful kid.... happy birthday. {omg dude... I can't believe you're eleven}

just wanted to update you all on some new things in my etsy shop... these original mixed media works on canvas! i love these so much & they've spent a while in my studio area {you know, my dining room} before i decided i could part with them... there will definitely be more of these coming in the near future! each one has a painted textured background & then i've hand lettered & hand cut each word from cardstock to apply them to the canvas. i hope you'll really love them too :)

so with the anticipation around here from one little girl so ready to go to preschool, we've been looking at lots of backpacks! after all, isn't that one of the most important things? hehe. there are lots of cute ones out there, but here are a few that are our favorites right now.
oh my cuteness... this owl one is my favorite. it's made by skip hop & i found this image at land of nod, but i believe you can find it other places too. they also had bee & mouse ones that were pretty darn cute.
well, i have to say, this one has the "lydie look" to it... it's pink AND it's polka dotted. i found this one at gymboree. {plus they had some coordinating outfits to go along with it}.
oh & this ladybug one from gap... i thought it was pretty clever how they designed it with the grommets for the eyes & the mixture of different materials is pretty cool.
...and of course i was looking at these with other thoughts in mind... like that cool color combo on the owl backpack & the red & cream polka dots i want to make up to use on a layout... or how i could combine materials like they did on the ladybug backpack to create a really interesting page... hmmm. so fun to think about!

just did up this layout with this little moment i caught lydie in a few weeks ago. love finding pics like this. definitely one of those that warrants being by itself on a page. this little girl is always taking everything in around her... journaling reads:

so i thought i'd show you what i did with some freebie goodies from pugly pixel. you can download them too... i can spend lots of time there drooling over her site :)
so i used the tape strips... super cool. love this look, especially on a clean layout like this
i used one of the little starburst medallions... lots of patterns
& used one of the shipping tags... {but i did recolor it a little}
