I'm so excited, Dan & I are leaving tomorrow morning to travel to Chicago for CHA. I missed out last year, as I had just had Lydia a few months earlier & was overwhelmed w/ our basement project. I love going to see all the new ideas, the trends, & helping out in the Reminisce booth. It does me good to see the people coming to look at our new lines, hearing their reactions & placing orders for their stores. This is the first year Dan is coming along for the ride. I really can't wait to get his take on the whole thing.

cranky

When we got home from the sitters yesterday afternoon I noticed Lydie was exceptionally cranky. Usually she's ready to eat her supper as soon as we walk in the door (usually 5 or before), so I was ready with her food right away to forgo any meltdowns. She ate almost everything & was still not acting right. When I got her out of her chair, I noticed her little body felt kinda warm, so I checked her head & yep, fever. Darn it. I was assuming it was her teeth, since her gums are seriously bumpy. I gave her tylenol & hoped that would make her happy, since we were going out with family for supper & to catch up with my aunt Rita, who is visiting from, Tennessee. She was great at supper, & in typical Lydie fashion, made sure she ate another supper while she was there!

This morning she woke up pink-cheeked, so I knew the fever was back. She's not a fan of letting anyone look in her mouth, but I got my finger in there just long enough to feel two pointy bumps on her bottom gum where, what I call her eye teeth should be. These always seemed to be the worst for the boys, too. Unfortunately, Lydia's teeth are slooowww coming in, but hopefully she won't have to endure the pain & fevers for too long! Poor little sweetie.

relaxation

ok, so the porch isn't quite finished yet, but we are definitely enjoying it already. Lydia loves running around on it {notice the gates in previous picture}. Dan & I really love sitting out there at night after the kids are in bed {ahhh, quiet}. This weekend we had a bday party for Collin & Evan & it was put to really good use when it rained for a good portion of the afternoon. There's just something about being able to sit outside when it's raining.... ya know?

I was also super excited to find these chairs (we got 4 total) at Target for 75% off! Yay, I love Target! Dan was really sold when I told him that we could "store" them in the basement during the winter.

this summer:

*build wrap around porch

*relax on porch!

when these are completed:

*drywall basement (last summer's project was to lift the house & put in a new, taller, nicer basement)

*put flooring in basement (try out the heated floors!)

*relax in basement!

next summer:

*maybe... build an attatched garage

(Dan says that will be the last big project for a while)
