Sorry for the lack of posts lately. We've had a jumble of everything going on here! Collin had a overload of homework last week... I truly could not believe how many tests, worksheets, reading etc etc he had! Which, of course, means, my nights were consumed with helping studying, pushing him to finish what he needed & trying to keep him from getting overwhelmed! We made it through & he did pretty well on all his tests. This week has been a lot lighter load {thank goodness!}. Collin came home yesterday & said he had tried out for the YCC {Youth Crusader Choir} & he was chosen! YAY Collin! Of course, he couldn't understand why I was so excited for him. Let me tell you, him being so spontaneous & trying out for something like that on a whim is a stretch for Collin. He would have fretted for weeks about the thought of it a year ago... he's definitely gaining more confidence in himself and his abilities.
We've also been doing a little planning for a birthday around here that is coming soon! A week from today is Lydia's 2nd birthday. We're having a party for her on Saturday the 14th, which she will share with her cousin Erin, who will be 10 this week & her aunt Kim, who had a birthday last week. It will be fun to have everyone together. Now I just need to get the house clean, which is always such a struggle around here. I did some massive cleaning over the weekend since we had bought a new sectional for our living room & it needed to be clean to be delivered! Looking good so far, mainly just need to get my work/scrapbooking area under control.
Monday, Dan's mom ended up going to the ER with some major stomach issues. She hadn't been feeling well & on Tuesday, they took her to Iowa City since things were not getting better. Right now she's staying up there & so far tests show she is having issues with her liver. We're hoping to know more today. Dan got to see her last night & said she was in much better spirits than on Monday. So, if you could offer your prayers, we'd appreciate it! Evan was so sweet on Tuesday, he came home from school & informed me that his class prayed for grandma. We love you Bev!
Next week, we'll also need your prayers for our babysitter Kim, who is going to have her gall bladder removed. She's been feeling yucky for well over a month & finally found out it was her gall bladder acting up. Since I had mine out shortly after Lydia was born, I feel for her. It is a pain like no other! We're hoping for her a quick recovery. She's planning on taking a few days off & then having some extra help with the girls after that. They will definitely miss her while she's recovering. I know for certain Lydia loves her so much!
Oh... and please pray for me tomorrow when I take Lydia to the dentist for the first time! She doesn't like people crowding her, opening her mouth, having anyone look in her mouth & in general, does not let me brush her teeth! And did I mention if she doesn't like something, she can let out ear piercing screams & cries that causes ringing in your ears?
