it's almost time!

lose for good...

as many of you know I'm a pretty loyal Weight Watchers member... I've followed the program after each of my kids {of course sometimes with more success than others!}.  I've always done the online version until a friend of mine asked if I'd like to go to meetings with her.  I started meetings 6 weeks ago today & along with my friend & my sister {& soon my mom!} we've been plugging away.  Tonight is my weigh in & I'm hoping that I'll reach the 20 pound mark since starting the meetings!  Before I'd started the meetings, I had lost about 18 or so over the previous 2 years... so yes, the meetings are working great for me!  

Weight Watchers has a really cool thing going on now called Lose for Good... where Weight Watchers members lose weight & in turn the company donates money to fight against hunger.  So just by posting this on my blog today... he's the big 4-0

Today's my sweeties birthday... and his twin sisters of course!  Last night we were able to get out without the kids because we volunteered to work the beer tent at the rodeo for HTC {the kids' school}.  We treat any volunteer opportunity as a chance that we have to get out, kid-less & enjoy ourselves.  I know... lame. Anyway we had fun.  Today we've just been taking it easy hanging with the family around home & I made him a nice supper of steak, mashed cheesy potatoes, broccoli & cherry crisp.  It's been an awesome day of talking on the porch & Dan just doing whatever he wanted to do {which I guess was mowing the lawn}.  The guy doesn't ask for much, but we treated him to a new cool car t shirt, a big fountain mountain dew from hy-vee gas & a big container of Whoppers!  But, next weekend I'm planning a nice bbq with friends & family at our house, so we'll be able to celebrate for sure!

Funny, while we were talking this morning... we met when Dan was 20. Yes, it is crazy to think that I've known him half his life.... I've loved most every moment of the time I've spent with you Dan & if it's possible, I think you've gotten better with age :)  I'm especially proud of all the great things you've accomplished that we dreamed of, but never imagined could come to reality.  You're a great man, that's for sure & a great daddy too!

We Love you & hope you enjoyed your birthday! 

*ps* we want to send big birthday wishes to Donna {Dan's twin sister} today as well!  We hope you enjoyed your birthday too!  Can't wait to see you soon!  Love you :)

decorator goodness

sorry I've been so quiet here lately... I've been swamped with kid stuff, trying to remember to do everything I need to do for our church sale in less than a month {we're on our last year on the sale committee}, oh & trying to get some great stuff designed & ready for my opening in ONE WEEK from today at Design House Digital!  I'm so excited & am already loving all the great support & feedback from the other designers & the decorators {the great team that gets to play with all the goodies}.  On a side note... I love how the DHD site is centered & themed around the idea of a house or a home... so fun & of course perfect for me :)

great weekend

I hope everyone had a wonderful extended weekend... I enjoyed mine so much!  Nothing too exciting, but we got out to see friends, family, had some great food, watched a few movies, enjoyed the INCREDIBLE weather... of course, for some reason, the camera didn't find it's way along with us at all! What the?  Oh well, it was just so nice to be able to enjoy the weekend together!  Today the windows are open once again... I love LOVE love this time of the year :) Lydie & I are also making tents on the porch & chocolate chip cookies while I add a little work in here & there.
