pinkalicious!
I'm quite sure that any of you out there that have little girls know all about Pinkalicious... a feisty little girl with a deep love for the color pink {and all things pink!}. Lydia loves these books, so when we saw a dress up costume in the toy section, well, let's just say her Halloween costume was decided. If there were any girl that is Pinkalicious to the core, it would have to be this little girl... right here
although I captured plenty of photos of miss Lydia in her costume this year, my Evan has eluded me in his Iron Man costume. I'm hoping my sister got a shot or two of my superhero. Collin decided that he was too old for trick or treating this year, so he helped to pass out candy to all the kids at Grandma & Grandpa's house instead. Lydia had a great time at her school party with all her preschool friends & LOVED the tromp around St.Paul to gather up her candy!
Her favorite?
{she calls them kitty cats} all other candy in her bucket has gone untouched!
stay tuned tomorrow for some sneak peeks of my new releases on Thursday, plus some info about Digital Scrapbooking Day festivities!

family pictures
Every year we try to do family pictures at some point in time... many times it's been during the summer when Dan & I celebrate our anniversary & the boys have their photos taken for their birthdays or something like that. This year I really wanted to do a family photo, but we had a crazy busy summer & the last several months have raced past. My sister Carol {our amazing family photog} had taken my brother's family to this location a few weeks back to get my nephews senior pictures & snapped some amazing family photos of them as well. So, I really wanted to try this place for our family too. For locals, or anyone who grew up in our area, this is a little roadside area as your driving out of Nauvoo. I remember when we were little going here with picnic lunches. It was a little cool, but the kids loved it... so beautiful! I thought I'd share some of my favorites she captured today. Of course we can't ever seem to get a group shot where everyone is looking at the camera or smiling, but I love them anyway :)
thank you so much Carol... I love them all :)

brrr... it's getting colder
I knew it was coming, but somehow with the warmer days lately I guess I just put it out of my mind, but this morning it was COLD & tonight is supposed to be below freezing. I had the kids try on their winter coats about a month ago, thinking I'd keep an eye out for a good deal... Collin had outgrown his, luckily Evan had a nice Columbia hand me down from Collin to wear this year & Lydia had basically outgrown hers too, so 2 winter coats to buy. I've been searching the resale shops, but nothing good has been found, then today's cold sent me on an ebay search, but again, not quite what I was looking for in terms of price & selection. A friend had said something recently about Overstock.com, so I thought I'd check it out. Can I just say I literally spent 15 minutes there & came out with 2 coats... $65 bucks + free shipping. Here's what I chose:
for Collin this plaid coat in the walnut... I think he'll really like it, he's in to plaid & it looks like it's got a little orange in it {his fave color}
& this for Miss Lydia... yes in the pink. I had it up on the screen & she immediately said "I want that one... in the pink, not the purple!". What can I say, the girl knows what she likes... seriously pink, polka dots, what else does a girl need?
now I feel sorta bad for mister Evan, who's stuck with the hand me down... I think I'll have to find him some really cool hat & gloves to make up for it :) I am the youngest of 4 girls, so I know lots about hand me downs :)
