sneaks, goals & more

thought I'd give you a little peek of what I've got coming up this week...

digital papers: Mocha, Word aRt 2011, In Stitches Layered Template 2 by Robyn Meierotto {all available 12.30 at DHD}, Butterflies from Karla Dudley Felis kit available now at DHD.

I've never been too big on resolutions, but I do like to make goals for myself at the beginning of the year & they usually are modified or added to throughout the year.  I thought it would be fun to do a layout to document my goals for 2011 & to be able to look at them in a few months to see where I am with them... or remind myself to get moving on them!  Do you make goals or resolutions each new year?  If you do, do you keep up with them?  In 2010, one of my goals was to start designing digital scrapbooking products... I'm so glad I followed through on that one!  Weight loss is always on my list each & every year... I'm sure I'm not the only one ;)  This year I've taken that one seriously too & have accomplished a good part of my goal.  In 2011 I'm going to continue on that & I think there will be another goal set somewhere in the next several months of maintaining.

In other news, here at the Meierotto house, the kids are all out for Christmas vacation & we're keeping my neice Erin for the week.  Lydia is less than thrilled that school is not in session, but of course Collin & Evan are more than thrilled to do nothing school related.  Today I'm going to take them all to see the movie Tangled... or as Lydia refers to it "bapunzal".  I can't wait to see it... & get out of the house for a while!

One more thing... hope you've noticed my banners about the DHD 1st birthday extravaganza!  Stay tuned for freebies, sales & chats... OH MY!

one.little.word.2011

I've always been a fan of Ali Edwards' work... & then a few years back while working for Reminisce I was able to meet her at a class I took at Creating Keepsakes University, then a few weeks later, spend a weekend hanging out with her while she was teaching classes at the Reminisce store in Coralville.  At that point I wasn't just a fan of her scrapbooks & ideas... I became a fan of the great person she is & continue to be a loyal follower of her blog.  I was able to chat with her again at CHA in 2008 & of course would love to meet up with her again sometime in person... the girl just oozes creativity & just has a cool, relaxed way about her.  As I'm thinking this may not get to happen soon, I signed up today for her One Little Word class at Big Picture Scrapbooking.  I can't wait to get going on this... I've played along with the one little word before, but I'm loving that Ali has created a class to keep us in check with it throughout the year.  So here is mine...

reflections

I think I may have mentioned on my facebook that a few weeks ago I had seen myself for the first time in a long time in a full length mirror {we don't have one here at home}.  If you're not aware, I've been working on losing weight off & on since... forever, but really since Lydia was about one is when I started doing Weight Watchers online.  I successfully went down about 10-15 pounds & was sort of half-heartedly going at it when this summer I started the meetings with my sister & a friend.  Apparently, it's just what I needed to kick me into high gear... I'm down over 40 total, but about 27 since I started the meetings.  So the look in the mirror really sort of took me by surprise & at first I could hardly believe it was me in the reflection.  A few days later I took a few shots into our bathroom mirror to create this layout...

credits can be found HERE.

Along with the better reflection, I've been enjoying such new nicknames from my hubby like... slim, skinny, tiny... & really I like them all ;)  My son, Collin, also happened to tell me the other day that I really, really looked good {that's something coming from an 11 yr old boy}.  I'm enjoying the reflection {both in the mirror & thinking about where I've been in this body}, the road I'm on, the good I'm doing for myself & for the people I love.  I thought with the new year coming up, this was a great time to post this.  Because really, you can make a change any time in your life, any time of year, but why wait?  Be ready to make the changes... because change... it's gOoD!
