I made several leaps of faith... I decided to leave a good design job with great people I loved working with, but really wasn't happy with where I was going.  I started on a whim with a friend & my sister at Weight Watchers about the same time.  I started my own business, first on Etsy, then putting myself out there in the digital scrapbook design at Design House Digital.  All at the same time as becoming once again a full time stay at home mom to {at that time} an active 3 yr old & her brothers 7 & 11.  I really had no idea how I was going to do it all, but it all seemed right somehow in my heart.

As far as the work part, there were many months of working & putting the time in with not much return, lots of second guessing my decisions.  But I kept on keeping on & things started gaining momentum.  The love I have for all my new digital scrapbooking friends {& ever supportive paper scrappers} who cheered me on along the way is overwhelming.  Putting myself out there has definitely paid off & I'm now super busy designing some awesome stuff both digitally & paper, that I'm so proud of & excited about.

In the weight loss part, as many of you know, the weight came off, I started & have come to love running, not to mention I have the support of 2 of my sisters & my mom joining me every week at Weight Watchers meetings.  I would have NEVER guessed a year ago I'd be in this body right now & doing the things I'm doing.  I'm SO happy I started all this a year ago... & this quote is so very true...

As far as the stay-at-home part... I've done it with the both our boys & now with our daughter.  It can be SO hard & challenging, sometimes I have to ask for help to get it all done.  I have to remind myself to stop working... it's not always the most important thing... pay attention, giggle, play, don't take everything so seriously.  Everything is fleeting... get over the bad & not so fun parts & enjoy the wonderful moments when your kids share their lives with you, give hugs & kisses, say those sweet & funny things you want to remember forever.

Yes, I'd have to say, a year ago, none of this seemed possible, but I started... worked through it, dreamed about it, prayed about it, & just really, really, hoped things would work out.  I'm still hoping & dreaming... because who knows, next June, where I'll be.  But I'm hoping I'll still be running, designing stuff I love & keeping great memories along the way.  Thank you to all my friends & family that have believed in me.  I love you all :)

great accomplishments with family...

it's taken me a while to post this, but last Saturday my mom, 2 sisters Carol & Kim & myself all joined up with our Weight Watchers group to complete a 5k.  It was cold {can we say mid-40s?}, rainy & windy... yeh, not the best conditions for a 5k, but we persevered & got our butts out there anyway!  That, was accomplishment #1!  Carol & I have been going to WW since last June & have lost lots of poundage & have been working out for alot longer... my Mom has been going since the end of the year & has made HUGE strides & Kim has been going with us for a few months now & she has also done great!  I'm so proud of my mom, who has had knee replacement & has pushed her way through the training for the 5k.  She was mentioning just Saturday how she only had to stop once to stretch a little, compared to 2-3 times just a month before when we took a long walk.  It's amazing what losing weight & moving your body can do for you!  I'm also really proud of my sister Kim, who like us all, has struggled with weight her whole life & has been so awesome through starting on the program & training for the 5k... I'm sure she {as all of us have} NEVER thought she could walk 3.1 miles & not die!  I've loved watching both of them get excited, not just about the weight loss, but actually excited to see how much farther they could walk each day.  I love this picture of Kim & mom coming to the finish!  I swear I was so proud to see them coming & the looks on their faces... even smiling at the end!  LOVE YOU guys SO MUCH!  I'm so happy we can accomplish these things together!

It's so amazing to see what we can accomplish when we just try.  Seriously... you really don't know what you are capable of until you try!  I can't wait to see what's next for us!  love you all <3

new releases 5.19

hello everyone... sorry it's been so long!  I've got a few kits for you this week...

even though I love the sorta rustic, a little shabby & worn most of the time, I do love my graphic stuff too.  I'm a letter & number fanatic & just love adding the look of them here & there on my pages.

I recently saw some scrapbook pages that made me fall in love with barcodes & had to immediately do these up... yay!

& of course here are some beauties from the creatives...

hello? can I take a trip right there to that spot in the picture?  thanks Allison, for creating such an amazing page with both the Graphic papers & the Barcode words!

& how cute is this one from Shelley?  Again, great use of both kits this week!

awesome pics... thanks Shelley!

& one from me using both kits... are these not the cutest kids ever? ok, ok, I'm sorta partial... caught this pic Easter morning before church.  It's hard to get them all to sit together sometimes :)

Head on over to DHD today for 30% off the new releases!  Hope you all have a great day too!

new releases 5.5 & a chat

hey everyone!!! happy new release Thursday!  I've got a few new kits for you today & remember they're 30% off just today... plus all the other goodies in store that are 25% off all week long!

I've been wanting to do these for a while... hope to have more to come in the future too.  They are all seperate pieces so you can mix them up & choose the look you want or just use the pieces seperately... + I've included 3 different attatchments to help you out there.  My fave thing to do with the stamp/image portion is to fool around in photoshop with the different blending modes to change the look... or to use them as a clipping mask with different papers.

This is something I've been playing around with too & hope to have lots of different versions of the kraft with colorful pops... I've got so many inspiring color palettes on the back burner waiting to be used. I hope you like... & of course I'd LOVE to see what you do with my designs!  Feel free to link me up or put them up in the DHD gallery!  Here are a few layouts done with the new goodies...

layout by {me}  here I used both releases + a little Karla Dudley, Jen Allyson & Gennifer Bursett goodness. That's me & my sis Carol before our first 5k Easter weekend.

& of course another cool layout from {allison}  check out how she clipped out the little swimming guy at the bottom... fun! ****speaking of miss allison**** we are hosting a chat together TONIGHT Thursday May 5th @ 8 pm mountain {that means 9pm central} for all of you wanting to join us!  You have a chance to win a $10 gift certificate to the store too!  & maybe I'll have a freebie for you as well {wink wink}!!!

& the always stunning pics from {shelley} love how she created this graphic layout with the elements & the papers.

& another by {shelley} super awesome how she played around with blending modes here with the photo & elements.

yay! have a fun Thursday!
